<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of image defects such as white stripes caused by adhesion of a carrier in a developer leaking from a developing means to an electrifying electrode, in an image forming apparatus having an electrifying means disposed below the developing means. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a shielding means to prevent intrusion of the carrier into the electrifying means, or provided with a magnetic member which prevents the carrier near the electrifying means from adhering to the electrifying electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
