PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computerized method for managing a storage area network.

SOLUTION: This method is used for displaying an arbitrary device mapped in a first window of a graphical user interface (GUI), and for displaying an arbitrary device not mapped in a second window of the GUI. A user can supplement the map selectively and incrementally so as to include another device in the map by using inferred link information and user supplied information.
