PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise purchase cycle management system for detecting merchandise which has exceeded the period of purchase, among the pieces of merchandise which should be purchased periodically, and reporting it to customers.
SOLUTION: When a customer purchases merchandise X, a store controller 1 records the date of purchase and the merchandise X purchased into a history file 5 for each customer. At the closing time, the store controller 1 reads the maximum permissible number of dates for the merchandise X from a specific merchandise table 4 and detects the date of purchase of the merchandise X by the customer from the history file 5. The store controller 1 then checks purchase date data to see if the purchase of the merchandise X has periodicity. If there is periodicity, the store controller 1 calculates the elapsed number of days from the last date of purchase of the merchandise X to this day. Then the store controller compares the period of purchase plus the maximum permissible number of days with the elapsed number of days; if the elapsed number of days is greater, the controller determines that the period of purchase of the merchandise X has been exceeded, and creates direct mail to be sent to each customer.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
