PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic instrument which enables an operator to easily recognize what part the operator him-/herself is displaying. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic instrument transmits/receives ultrasonic waves to/from an organism to process and display obtained received signals as an ultrasonic image on a monitor. The instrument is equipped with: a coordinate converting means to convert the coordinates of received signals obtained by transmitted/received signals to those of TV scanning; a scroll display means which can move and display an area wider than the ultrasonic image displayed on the monitor; and a scroll moving area selection means which can select at least two or more scroll-movable areas corresponding to a prescribed inputting operation.
