PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity and reliability of a hydro-dynamic bearing by visually confirming an oil repellent film during a manufacturing process to easily and surely confirm the formation of the oil repellent film, without impairing the characteristic of the oil repellent film, in manufacturing the hydro-dynamic bearing provided with the oil repellent film. SOLUTION: The oil repellent film is formed in a state that its thickness is controlled to beλ/ (4n) or more and less than 500nm, whenλis a wavelength of the illumination light in examination and n is a refraction factor of the oil repellent film. The visual confirmability can be improved by selecting the wavelength of the illumination lightλin addition to the film thickness. Further by being combined with an image processing device, the oil repellent film confirmation process can be labor-saved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
