PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective structure assuring a building limit while allowing rapid construction with simple structure by reducing projection to the inner surface side from the lining inner surface of an existing tunnel without forming such constitution that a joint member falls from the upper part of the tunnel. SOLUTION: The segments 1 for protecting/reinforcing the tunnel lining inner surface, wherein shear keys 3 serving as joint members for connecting adjacent segment rings 7 to each other in the axial direction of the tunnel are provided at a plurality of parts of sides 4, 5, forming the circumferential direction of the tunnel, of the segment 1 of approximately rectangular plate shape with circumferential spaces to project in the axial direction of the tunnel, are arranged along the tunnel lining inner surface and shifted in the circumferential direction of the tunnel for every segment ring adjacent in the axial direction of the tunnel, and built up in a zigzag form.
