PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy for machining which has good machinability, without adding Pb, and good processability of surface treatment. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy for machining contains 1-6.5mass% Cu, 0.05-1mass% Zn, 0.1-1mass% Bi, 0.1-1mass% Sn, and≤100massppm B. Further, the aluminum alloy contains, as an selective alloying element, at least one of 0.05-1mass% Fe, 0.01-0.3mass% Mg, 0.05-1mass% Si, and 0.01-0.5mass% Ti. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
