PURPOSE: A method for improving a packet service of a cellular phone is provided to perform communication with only a pure PPP(Point-to-Point Protocol) packet without adding or removing an HDLC(High-level Data Link Control) for the PPP packet during up/down links in a TE(Terminal Equipment) or an MS, thereby improving packet performance. CONSTITUTION: In an up-link process, a TE transmits a pure PPP packet to an MT(Mobile Termination), and the MT transmits the received pure PPP packet to a network. In a downlink process, the MT transmits the pure PPP packet received from the network to the TE, and the TE analyzes the pure PPP packet received from the MT. In the up-link process, an additional function of adding an HDLC frame to the PPP packet or removing the HDLC frame from the PPP packet is not conducted.
