METHOD FOR GASIFYING BIOMASS AND GASIFYING APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for gasifying biomass designed to treat a large amount of even the biomass having a relatively low specific gravity, to carry out a gasifying reaction at a relatively low temperature and having excellent productivity in producing a high-caloric gas and excellent properties of removing and treating toxic gases.

SOLUTION: The method for gasifying the biomass is carried out as follows. Biomass grains such as wood pieces or wood flour are fluidized in a fluid medium supporting a catalyst for gasifying organic components with an oxidizing gas to form a fluidized bed. The resultant fluidized bed is maintained at 400-600°C temperature so as to carry out the degrading gasification of the biomass.
