PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of extracting data for use in a host operating to host a volume manager which is connected to one or more logic units (LUN) and manages access to one or more LUNs through creation of one or more volume groups. SOLUTION: The method includes giving one or more queries to the volume manager and determining which of one or more LUNs are members of each volume group, on the basis of results of queries.
