The paint drip and splash guard for paint rollers for ceiling coating comprises a top open and downwards movable and lockable protective guard consisting preferably of washable material and which reaches approximately to the middle of the diameter of the paint roller and is fastened on the handle of the roller. The guard may be elliptical in design, whereby the roller lies lengthwise between the focal points of the ellipse, or may be rectangular with the longitudinal side parallel to the roller.
