A spinning rotor (22) has an insert (24) mounted on bearings (25) that are attached to the rotor shaft (23). The insert (24) can move at a different rotational speed than the rotor (22), but is linked to it by a coupling without direct contact, e.g. by permanent magnets (32) placed in the insert. The insert has a yarn guide channel (31) that is curved at its entry in the direction of rotor rotation.
