<p>A channel-shaped reinforcing carrier 60 has long through-slits 64 in one side of the carrier which extend part-way across the carrier base and short slits 66 in the other side of the carrier which do not extend into the carrier base, so leaving an unslit area B along the length of the channel, the long and short slits being in alignment. Also disclosed is a seal in which a carrier having short slits in one side is embedded in material which also carries a sealing portion.</p> |
