This invention relates to a photothermographic element comprising a support, at least one photo thermographic imaging layer, and at least one filter layer, wherein the filer layer comprises a heat-bleachable composition comprising a benzothiazine arylidiene filter dye, which filter dye is in the presence of an effective amount of a base precursor.
