<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an FM radar apparatus which can highly accurately detect a distance and a relative velocity for each target, by pairing beat frequencies and calculating a correspondence while distinguishing a plurality of adjacent targets (vehicles or the like) surely. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a transmitting detecting module 10 and a processing part 20. The transmitting detecting module transmits in different directions a plurality of beams of FM signals having a frequency rise period and a frequency fall period because of a linear increase and decrease of the frequency while partly superposing adjacent beams. At the same time, the transmitting detecting module detects respective reflecting waves, mixes with transmission components, thereby generating beat signals. The processing part 20 pairs frequencies of the beat signals appearing in the rise period and fall period, and operates already formed each pair, thereby detecting a distance to an object generating the reflecting waves or a relative velocity or both. The processing part 20 carries out a process of reflecting the detection result for each beam to the detection result of the adjacent beam.</p> |
