PURPOSE: An electron gun for a cathode ray tube is provided to reduce a spot mirror by magnifying a horizontal main lens mirror for improving a focus of a screen image. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for a cathode ray tube comprises a triode part including a plurality of cathode radiating an electron beam, a G1 electrode as a control electrode for regulating a radiation quantity of the electron beam, and a G2 electrode for accelerating the electron beam toward a screen; and an electron gun having a plurality of focusing electrode(38) and an anode applied to a high voltage and an inner electrode(38a) mounted by retreating a predetermined distance from an end part of a common rim(38d). The focusing electrode and the anode form the common rim at a mutual opposite surface of the focusing electrode. A horizontal direction length of a single rim of the anode is larger than a horizontal direction length of a single rim of the focusing electrode. A center electron beam through hole of the inner electrode is a long length type in case of a vertical than a horizontal.
