PURPOSE: A power cutoff device is provided to prevent damages of portable phone caused due to fluctuation of voltage even when the battery is separated from the portable phone at the state where the portable phone is not turned off by an end button. CONSTITUTION: A portable phone comprises a main body(11); a battery receptacle(13) arranged at the rear surface of the main body; a battery(12) accommodated in the battery receptacle in such a manner that the battery is detachable from the battery receptacle; a battery attachment/detachment unit for attaching/detaching the battery; and a power cutoff device for cutting off the power of the portable phone in accordance with the operation of the battery attachment/detachment unit. The power cutoff device includes a separating button switch(31) which turns on/off by the operation of a battery separating button(21); and a control unit(32) for cutting off the power of the portable phone in accordance with the signal of the separating button switch.
