PURPOSE: An automatic mode converting apparatus of a mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to automatically convert a mode of a mobile terminal into a vibration mode or a bell sound mode according to a situation. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal is set in an automatic mode and in a bell sound mode(ST21,ST22). A temperature sensor and an optical sensor operate to check an ambient temperature and brightness(ST23). The temperature sensor checks whether an ambient temperature is 36.5 degrees(ST24). An optical sensor checks whether ambient environment is bright or dark(ST25). If a temperature and brightness set by a user are satisfied, the mobile terminal is changed to a vibration mode(ST26). It is checked whether the temperature and brightness are maintained(ST27).
