PURPOSE: A light emitting device, a method of manufacturing the same, and a method of manufacturing a plasma display panel are provided to prevent a deterioration of luminance over a long period of time, by arranging a phosphor and a photocatalyst in a container. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting device comprises a container for containing a discharge medium sealed therein; a phosphor existing in the container; and a photocatalyst exposed to the discharge medium and arranged in a first region where ultraviolet rays or light emitted from the phosphor reaches in the container. A method for manufacturing a light emitting device comprises a step of forming a precursor of a phosphor layer by mixing phosphor particles and a photocatalyst; a step of disposing the precursor in the region contacting a discharge medium; and a step of forming the phosphor layer by firing the precursor.
