PURPOSE: An anti gel formation chemical of the present invention inhibits gel formation that is caused by the injection of caustic soda into cooling water for removing H2S emitted from slag sand granulation apparatus, thus effective to the removal of scale deposition on cooling water pipeline. CONSTITUTION: The anti gel formation chemical comprises (a) 400 to 800 parts by weight of CMC(carboxyl methyl cellulose); (b) 6 to 10 parts by weight of HEDP(hydroxy ethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid); and (c) 6 to 10 parts by weight of SDS(sodium dodecyl sulfate). When the anti gel formation chemical is injected to cooling water, the concentration of above ingredients in cooling water 1L is as follows: carboxyl methyl cellulose 800-1600 ppm; hydroxy ethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid 12-20 ppm; sodium dodecyl sulfate 12-20 ppm.
