A wrist-mounted communication unit comprises a main body case (10) having a functional section received therein, and a 12-o'clock-side main body band (11) and a 6-o'clock-side main body band (12) that are hinged to the main body case (10). The lower band (121) of the 6-o'clock-side main body band (12) has an extension band (13) removably attached thereto. The removable joining is effected in that a joining projection of key-shaped cross section having the extension band (13) formed thereon is fitted in a joining groove of key-shaped cross section formed on the 6-o'clock-side main body band (12). The main body bands (11, 12) are made of hard resin or metal, and the extension band (13) is made of urethane resin or rubber.
