PURPOSE: A digital keyphone set receiving key input by a rotary dialing method, and a method thereof are provided to design a digital keyphone set in various designs, and simplify inner hardware composition. CONSTITUTION: A rotary dial device has an input function corresponding to key input digit of a digital keyphone set, wherein the input function is realized by a dial plate rotating to a predetermined reference point. A dial rotation angle detecting unit detects a rotation angle of the dial plate rotating to the reference point. A pulse generating part generates a predetermined pulse signal corresponding to the rotation angle detected by the dial rotation angle detecting part. A control unit receives the pulse signal from the pulse generating part for performing operation corresponding to the pulse signal.
