The apparatus includes a chassis that is articulated at the level of the user's knee (15) and shoulders (16) for permitting the user to move from a standing to a seated position when getting on a chairlift. The chassis is fixed on two skis (21) and supports the user under the armpits (6,7) and at the level of the user's buttocks. A mechanical assistance device (9) helps the user stand from the seated position without use of his/her legs.
