<p>The invention concerns a device for protection against surge voltages, connected between an electrical line (50) and the earth connection (52), comprising a first connection electrode (12), a second connection electrode (18) and a switching electrode (22) mobile between an operating position, in contact with the first connection electrode, and a switching position, proximate the second connection electrode. An electrical dipole (36) comprising for example a voltage-dependent resistor (40) and/or a spark gap (38) connects the mobile electrode (22) to the second connection electrode (18). The mobile electrode (22) can be driven by a mechanism, an electromechanical relay and/or a magnetic circuit (46) providing repulsion when the current intensity becomes very high. The separation of the electrodes (12, 22) produces an arc which limits the current passing through the dipole then, by switching on to the second connection electrode (18), switches off the dipole thereby ensuring its protection.</p> |
