The handling trolley (10) for lifting an air conditioner assembly for fitting to a ceiling has a horizontal lifting platform (60) mounted for vertical movement on a fluid actuated telescopic post (80) between a lowered loading position and a raised position. The platform has horizontal rollers on its upper face, as does the trolley chassis. The rollers for the platform and trolley upper surfaces can have parallel axes.
