PROCESS FOR PREPARING INORGANIC PHOSPHORS

A process is described for preparing phosphor particles of an inorganic material which involves the precipitation in aqueous solution of the inorganic material or a precursor thereof and, optionally, subsequently calcining the resulting precipitate wherein a comminution step is carried out at one or more of the following steps: (i) during the precipitation, (ii) after the precipitation and before recovery of the precipitate, and (iii) after calcination, if carried out, in which case it is carried out in a non-aqueous solvent.
