This invention features apparatus and kits for treating an area of vascular bifurcation where a principal conduit (2) separates into at least two secondary conduits (3), the apparatus having at least a first segment that has, in a predetermined fully expanded state, a substantially conical shape and a first end (6) having a greater diameter than a second end (5); the fir st end conforming to an increasing cross section of the principal conduit in th e direction of at least one secondary conduit, and the apparatus being shaped to be independent of any other surgical apparatuses when the apparatus is in a predetermined fully expanded state.
