PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and low fogging. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photographic sensitive material having one or more photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers on a support, a compound represented by the formula (I): (X)k-(L)m-(A-B)n is contained, a silver halide emulsion contained in the silver halide emulsion layers contains a sensitizing dye, and 1-50 mol% of the sensitizing dye comprises one or more compounds represented by formula (IV). In the formula (I), X is a group that is adsorptive to silver halide or absorbs light and has one or more atoms selected from N, S, P, Se and Te; L is a divalent linking group having one or more atoms selected from C, N, S and O; A is an electron donative group; B is a group that is split off or H; a radical A is generated by splitting off or deprotonation after oxidation; k and m are each an integer of 0-3; and n is 1 or 2.
