PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which is excellent in mechanical characteristics and having a high flame retardancy. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber cable, a plurality of tape layers inside which flame retardant is introduced are provided onto an outer periphery of a cable core, and a jacket is provided outside the tape layers. Even when addition of the flame retardant into the jacket is suppressed to a low level, whole cable can acquire high flame retardancy due to presence of the tape layers with the flame retardant of another constitution than the jacket.
