PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a method for manufacturing the same in which reliability of tight sealing of a liquid crystal injection port is improved in a liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same, in which the liquid crystal injection port, provided via a pattern of a sealant, is end-sealed with an injection port end-sealing material. SOLUTION: Folded back parts 11 with shapes of being folded back and superposed to the outside are provided on both sides of the liquid crystal injection port 12 on the pattern of the sealant 1, namely, wide parts of which the inside edges coincide with those of the other regions and the outside edges protrude to the outside compared with those of the other regions are provided on positions verging on the liquid crystal injection port 12 from both sides. Each of the folded back parts 11 overruns a side edge 3b of a substrate principal surface (an electrode forming face) and protrudes therefrom. The injection port end-sealing material 2 is disposed over the whole longitudinal region L extending toward both sides of the liquid crystal injection port 12 along side edges of the substrates 31, 32. In particular, the outside edges of the folded back parts 11 are extended into a valley 36 formed of chamfered parts 35 of the substrates 31, 32 and the sealant 1 is filled in the valley.
