摘要 PURPOSE: A device and a method for actively damping the mechanical vibration and shock on a head suspension of a disc drive are provided to offer the method for operating the disc drive, a suspension load beam, a head suspension assembly, a head gimbal assembly, and an actuator in order to actively damp the mechanical vibration and shock on the head suspension. CONSTITUTION: A tool integrates at least two piezo-fiber elements(300,302) to the suspension load beam(80), which collectively offers at least two differential signals representing the mechanical bend of the suspension load beam through respective wires(310,312). As an out-of-phase electrical signal is returned to the suspension load beam through the wires, the tool(320) is responded to the differential signals received through the matched wires whenever the mechanical bend is generated. The tool integrates at least two piezo-fiber elements to the suspension load beam responding to the out-of-phase electrical signal in order to attenuate the mechanical bend of the suspension load beam.
