PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial satellite capable of being folded in compact when the same is loaded on a rocket and is launched and of increasing and reducing functions according to demand of a user. SOLUTION: A plurality of panels 2-10 are rotatably connected by hinges 21a, can be folded when it is mounted on the rocket and launched and can be unfolded in space after launch. At least a solar cell panel, a battery, an attitude control apparatus, a communication apparatus or the like are separately or collectively loaded on the each panel 2-10. The apparatus loaded on the each panel is electrically connected and temperature difference is minimized by a thermally conductive sheet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
