Apparatus for measuring arterial blood pressure uses cuffs having two compartments each and one cuff is placed on each of two limbs to obtain comparative measurements. An indicating needle is connected mechanically to two pressure-sensitive cells mounted within an airtight casing and the interior of one communicates with the atmosphere while the interior of the other, and the interior of the casing, are connected through a distribution valve to various combinations of the four cuff compartments and to an inflating bulb. The internal arrangement of the valve makes it possible to connect (a) all the compartments of the cuffs, the casing and the pressure-sensitive cell to the inflating bulb; (b) the two compartments of either cuff to the sensitive cell; (c) the outer compartments of the two cuffs together to the sensitive cell.
|
