<p>PURPOSE: A desulfurizing agent for molten iron and a method for preparing the same are provided to noticeably improve desulfurizing performance thereof compared to common desulfurizing agents by recirculating and treating a second refining ladle slag known as a waste material. CONSTITUTION: The desulfurizing agent comprises 25-45wt.% of a ladle slag containing less than 1mm granular size and 20wt.% or less of T, Fe and MnO; and 55-75wt.% of calcium oxide. The method comprises mixing the ladle slag generated at a secondary refining after oxide-refining molten steel for producing extreme lower carbon steel in a converter in 10wt.% or less; recovering only naturally decomposable ladle slag in powdery form; then admixing the ladle slag together with calcium oxide in a weight percent of 25-45wt.% and 55-75wt.%, respectively.</p> |
