<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus realizing the shortening of the time from designating printing until finishing the printing and the saving of power consumption by starting the printing at low speed even when the temperature of a fixing part is nearly the same temperature as that set in an energy saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: A printer (image forming apparatus) 10 is equipped with at least the energy saving mode in which it stands by in a state where the control temperature of the fixing part 24 is made lower than that at ordinary printing time, and is constituted to start the printing at lower speed than that at the ordinary printing time in accordance with the temperature of the fixing part 24 at printing starting time when the temperature of the fixing part 24 is equal to or above the control temperature set in the energy saving mode and under the control temperature at the ordinary printing time, and to switch the printing speed to the ordinary one when the fixing part 24 attains the control temperature at the ordinary printing time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
