<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an industrial sterilizer which can exhibit an excellent controlling effects on bacteria, fungi, yeasts and algae in the fields of coating materials, inks, resin emulsions, metal-processing oiling agents, and dampening water, and to obtain a coating material, ink, resin emulsion, metal-processing oil, or dampening water which contains the industrial sterilizer. <P>SOLUTION: The industrial sterilizer contains a bis quaternary ammonium salt compound, and an isothiazoline-based compound and/or a nitroalcohol-based compound. The industrial sterilizer can exhibit the excellent controlling effects on the bacteria, fungi, yeasts and algae in application targets such as coating materials, inks, resin emulsions, metal-processing oiling agents, and dampening water.
