摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system and a recording medium for easily designing an electric discharge machining electrode by using a three-dimensional CAD even by a non-skilled CAD designer on a regular level. <P>SOLUTION: A design supporting method of an electric discharge machining electrode to be used to perform electric discharge removal of a shape of a remaining non-machined portion of a work after being subjected to the machining design comprises: a step 6 of reading the shape of the remaining non-machined portion of the work after the work is subjected to milling; a step 7 of reading a master file recording various kinds of electric discharge machining conditions required for the electrode design prepared for the electric discharge machining in advance; a step 5 for automatically calculating the required electric discharge gap based on the electric discharge machining condition and the shape of the remaining non-machined portion; a step 2 of reading the electric discharge machining shape and the gap thereof, and preparing the electrode body shape by performing the gap treatment of a required machining margin; a step 3 of generating a base of the electrode in a three-dimensional manner based on the electrode body shape, and a step 4 to synthesize the generated electrode body shape and the base shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
