WRITE-ONCE RECORDING MEDIUM, METHOD FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING INFORMATION, AND DEVICE FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem that the device has a poor area efficiency to record the information peculiar to the device and a medium on a write-once recording medium, and has to take time to obtain the information. SOLUTION: The information 11 peculiar to the medium including a using area of an OPC area 7 and a data area 7 and the information 11 peculiar to a plurality of devices loaded with this medium are coupled into one block, and are recorded in a device medium information area 9 in a device medium information write-once area 8. The information peculiar to the device 11 is sorted in time sequence of attaching the medium, and a medium more recently attached to the device is selectively stored. Useful information peculiar to the device 10 and the information peculiar to the medium 11 can be obtained from the device medium information area 9 recorded last. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
