PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head and water jacket structure for a cylinder block in an engine applying separation cooling system in which streaming motion loss of cooling water is decreased in an engine cylinder head and a cylinder block side water jacket, and thermostat fixture attaching durability is improved simultaneously. SOLUTION: For accomplishing the target above, the water jacket is independently formed on the cylinder head and the cylinder block, respectively. The commonly used opening of the water jacket is formed in such a manner that its cross-sectional area is reduced toward the inside, and the exit of the water jacket is independently formed on each cylinder head side, respectively.
