PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there is a possibility of an increase in connection loss and disconnection due to occurrence of a sharp twist in a short section of a fiber. SOLUTION: In the optical connector boot, an inlet for introducing an optical fiber is formed at one end in a longitudinal direction and an outlet for leading out the optical fiber is formed at the other end. The directions of the inlet and the outlet are varied from each other in such a manner that, when the optical fiber introduced from the inlet is led out of the outlet, the optical fiber is twisted around the axis within the boot. An optical connector is formed by putting such a boot on the optical fiber inserted and fixed to the ferrule. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
