PURPOSE: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to reduce the number of components and improve the productivity by integratedly forming electronic component installation part with a side panel of a main body case. CONSTITUTION: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner includes a main body case(10) formed of a front panel(11), a rear panel(12), both side panels(13,14), a top plate(15), and a bottom plate(16). A compressor(22), a heat exchanger(20), and a ventilating fan(21) are installed in the main body case. Electronic components for controlling operation of the compressor and the ventilating fan are installed in the main body case. An electronic component installation part(30) for installing the electronic components is formed on the one of the side panels. An aperture(19) for pipe connection is formed on the side panel. A protective cover(50) is detachably combined with the side panel for covering the electronic component installation part and the aperture.
