PURPOSE: A method and a device for modulating channel data, and a method and a device for correcting the channel data are provided to obtain the reliable playback data by effectively demodulating a data symbol having no error in case that an error is present in a symbol synchronization code. CONSTITUTION: A frame synchronization code detector(930) detects a frame synchronization code from the channel data. The first demodulator(950) demodulates the demodulated data symbol without referring to a symbol synchronization code if the frame synchronization code is detected. The second demodulator(960) demodulates the modulated data symbol by referring to the symbol synchronization code if no frame synchronization code is detected.
