摘要 PURPOSE: A display device is provided to reduce a power consumption by adjusting brightness according to a total sum of a driving current. CONSTITUTION: A display device includes a plurality of self-luminous elements arrayed to form a display screen and a driving circuit(XD) which generates driving currents to flow in the self-luminous elements according to pixel signals. The driving circuit is designed to restrict the driving currents flowing in the self-luminous elements when the total sum of the driving currents increases. The driving circuit includes a D/A conversion circuit(22), a grayscale reference circuit(RF) which generates a predetermined number of grayscale reference signals which are referred to by the D/A conversion circuit, and a correction circuit which detects the total sum of the driving currents flowing in the self-luminous elements and controls the grayscale reference circuit to generate a predetermined number of grayscale reference signals whose levels are uniformly corrected based on the total sum.
