PURPOSE: A method and a device for adjusting a track balance of an optical disc playback device reducing an unbalance detection error of a tracking error signal are provided to reduce the unbalance detection error of a tracking error signal by precisely detecting an unbalance value of the tracking error signal without a noise effect. CONSTITUTION: A comparator(34) outputs a counting control signal when a voltage variance is detected by comparing the voltage of a former tracking error signal with the present tracking error signal. A counter(35) performs counting by responding to the count control signal and outputs the unbalance value by accumulating the counting values. A controller(36) outputs the balance control signal when the unbalance value is out of an allowance range.
