PURPOSE: A chitosan-hyaluronic acid complex, its preparation method and a supporter comprising the complex are provided, to obtain a biodegradable supporter for tissue engineering which shows excellent mechanical properties and a remarkable cartilage cell regenerating efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The chitosan-hyaluronic acid complex is obtained by the alternative ion bonding of the modified carboxyl group moiety of hyaluronic acid having a basic unit represented by the formula 1, 2 or 3 or its derivatives and the amide group moiety of chitosan having a basic unit represented by the formula 4. Preferably the hyaluronic acid or its derivatives has a number average molecular weight of 50,000-400,000; and the derivatives have a degree of cinnamoyl group substitution of 0.1-49.9 %.
