<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bonding device for a polarizing plate, with which enlargement of a foot print, associated with upsizing of a color liquid crystal (LC) display, in the bonding device for the polarizing plate is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: An standing conveyance line 50 to convey an LC cell substrate 1 in an upright state is arranged. Lower edge supporting rolls to support a lower edge of the LC cell substrate 1 and pairs of principal surface supporting rolls to support both principal surfaces of the LC cell substrate 1 are installed with specified pitches extending over a full length of the standing conveyance line 50. A process to simultaneously bond polarizing plates 2, 3 to both principal surfaces of the LC cell substrate 1 is adopted in a polarizing plate bonding station 320. First and second polarizing plate setting tables 321A and 321B to suck and fix polarizing plates 2, 3, from which mold releasing films are released, and to convey the polarizing plates 2, 3 in a standing state to positions opposite to side faces of the LC cell substrate 1 in a standing state are provided on positions of both sides of the LC cell substrate 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
