<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which attains the shortening of warm-up time and improvement of the fixing property of toner without increasing the fluctuation of the voltage of a power source. <P>SOLUTION: When the output signal of a heater temperature control block 16 reaches a high level, a switch element 5 is turned on, so that an inductor 4 is charged with energy. When the output signal of the heater temperature control block 16 turns to a low level, the switch element 5 is turned off, so that charging to the inductor 4 is stopped. Voltage at the connecting point of the inductor 4 and the switch element 5 rises, and rectifier diode 7 is made conductive. The value of the DC voltage of a smoothing capacitor 8 can be varied by changing the duty ratio when the switch element 5 is driven by a fixed frequency system in the case that load impedance is constant. Also, it can be varied by changing the cycle of turn-on or turn-off at the time of driving the switch element 5 by a frequency modulating system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
