PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially orientated PPS film which has particularly improved thermal dimensional stability and mechanical characteristics while maintaining PPS properties. SOLUTION: This biaxially orientated polyphenylene sulfide film contains 0.5 to 50 wt% of a transition metallic compound with an average particle diameter of 1 to 100 nm in the film and a coeffficient of thermal expansion of 40 ppm/°C or less at 30 to 200°C.
