PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for estimating the size of He-cracks or the behavior of He-bubbles by using a two-dimensional or three-dimensional crystal grain boundary model of a welding part. SOLUTION: According to this method for estimating the behavior of He-bubbles in a neutron-irradiated material, the time history of temperature, stress, and strain during welding at an arbitrary point of the welding part are calculated, and the diameters and density of He-bubbles produced on a crystal grain boundary are calculated from He-concentration in a metal, temperature, and the time history of stress. According to this method and device for estimating the behavior of He bubbles in the neutron-irradiated material, the time history of stress components or strain components in a direction vertical to an arbitrary crystal grain boundary or grain boundary face is calculated by using the time history calculation result of stress components or strain components during welding at an arbitrary point assuming that the welding part is a two-dimensional or three-dimensional crystal grain boundary model, and the result is used to calculate the diameters and density of He-bubbles produced on the grain boundary.
