PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection apparatus and an inspection method for speedily inspecting leakage from a pressurizing vessel after contents are filled, in particular leakage from a hole, such as a pin hole existing on the pressurizing vessel. SOLUTION: Contents are filled and sealed into the leakage inspection apparatus for the pressurizing vessel. Then, the leakage inspection apparatus comprises a transport means for transporting the pressurizing vessel; a temperature measuring means for measuring the temperature of the peripheral section of the pressurizing vessel without contact; an operation means for performing calculation for specifying the presence or absence of pin holes on the surface of the pressurizing vessel, based on measurement results from the temperature measuring means; and an elimination means for eliminating from the transporting means for the pressurizing vessel that is judged to have the pin holes, based on the result of the operation.
